Joachim Pissarro is the Bershad Professor of Art History and Director of the Hunter College Galleries at Hunter College, New York. Also the great-grandson of the famous impressionist Camille Pissarro, Mr. Pissarro has followed his great-grandfather’s passion for the arts. He writes extensively on the arts, is the curator of many exhibitions, and also teaches and lectures. Joachim needed a web platform to not only share his many professional achievements with the world, but to give students and others with an interest in the arts access to his various writings and other projects. Prosthes.us designed and developed a professional portfolio for him that is able to catalogue and make available all of this information in an organized and attractive personal site.

FreshMint Video is brand new web video distribution technology with with exciting BuyBurnOwn tech that allows clients to download and burn to DVD directly from the web. They asked Prosthes.us to help them design an identity and launch a website with a fresh, first-class look that appealed to a variety of clients, but particularly the discerning tastes of those in the New York art scene. We took that as a challenge and came up with something that reflects refinement, a cool new tech, and the possibilities opened up by digital revenue. Hunter College’s Masters of Fine Arts Program has an incredibly active student organization with over 100 members, and they needed a web page that could help represent all the activities and vitality of the program. Prosthes.us adapted BuddyPress to provide a complete social networking environment for Hunter MFASO. Now the Hunter MFA students have a place online to network, socialize, plan events, and discuss school activities.

Tough Pigs is a Muppet Fan Webzine aimed at an adult audience with hankering for the good ‘ole days of classic Jim Henson mania. They asked Prosthes.us to do a complete overhaul on their and migrate their website from Blogger to WordPress. With the help of Tough Pig’s resident illustrator Smig, Prosthes.us produced a full update, giving the site a colorful and cartoonish vibe, keeping with its subject matter.

Hester Sunshine is a Brooklyn based fashion designer and creator of custom leather bootstraps. She was looking to establish a web presence that was clean, fashionable, and rounded off with her own unique decorative sense. We established an gothic frame motif early on and ran with it, producing a hip e-commerce site that speaks to everything that she and her bootstraps are about.
